Official | Hervé Renard replaces Sabri Lamouchi as Tunisia manager Hervé Renard has been appointed Tunisia national team manager after the FTF – the Tunisian FA – opted to fire Sabri Lamouchi just one game into the 2026 World Cup, the FTF has confirmed . The decision follows Tunisia heavy 5-1 defeat to Sweden in their opener on Sunday. The Tunisians suffered their third consecutive defeat and conceded no fewer than 11 goals in the process. At 57, Renard represents Tunisia’s last resort to qualify for the knockout stage of the 2026 World Cup. The former France Women’s national team manager was a free agent after being sacked from his post as Saudi Arabia head coach just months before the World Cup. Renard has signed a short-term deal with the FTF, given he has been appointed until the end of Tunisia’s run in the World Cup. However, the Tunisian FA has added that negotiations over a “long-term collaboration” will take place after the tournament. Tunisia will face Japan on Sunday at Estadio Monterrey, Mexico, on Sunday, June 21 at 6am (CEST) before their final group stage game against the Netherlands at Kansas City Stadium on Friday, June 26 at 1am (CEST).
