Barcelona superstar eager to start in Spain’s next World Cup against Saudi Arabia – report

Barcelona superstar eager to start in Spain’s next World Cup against Saudi Arabia – report One of the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup this summer, Spain’s campaign started out on a concerning note as they were held to a goalless draw by debutants Cabo Verde. A missing link in the Spanish armada was Lamine Yamal, who had to start on the bench on account of concerns over his fitness and the fact that he was not 100% ready to feature. Yamal’s absence in the Spain frontline was evident as La Roja struggled to completely dominate Cabo Verde’s deep defensive line, ultimately failing to break the deadlock. He is obssessed with the idea of starting a World Cup match. However, the winger is facing some pushback from Spain’s technical team, which believes Yamal is not fully fit to be able to start matches for La Roja . It must be noted that the explosive winger was suffering from an injury during the last phase of the campaign and was initially ruled out for first few matches. But Yamal has pulled him back into condition, although the technical team wants to maintain a cautious and not take too many risks with the forward. Do Spain really need Yamal in group stages? All eyes on Yamal (Photo by Buda Mendes/Getty Images) Spain’s disappointing result against Cabo Verde was a reminder that the team, despite all its talents, still lacks the presence of an explosive winger who can turn the game on its head. Although the likes of Ferran Torres, Gavi and Mikel Oyarzabal started, their performances were overshadowed by Yamal after he came on as a substitute in the second half. That being said, Spain still have enough firepower to power through at least the group stages, especially with the new rule changes that would allow even third-placed teams to have a chance of reaching the final 32. Therefore, resting Yamal for the Saudi Arabia game could be a good idea as Spain look to have him fully fit for the knockout round of the tournament.
