Barcelona identify three blockbuster alternatives as Julian Alvarez dream faces obstacles Barcelona’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez remains very much alive, but the club is already preparing for the possibility that their dream signing may prove impossible to secure. As reported before, the Argentine forward continues to be the preferred option within the club, with both sporting director Deco and manager Hansi Flick viewing the forward as the ideal long-term solution for the No.9 position. However, with the operation expected to be extremely complicated from both a sporting and financial standpoint, Barcelona are not putting all their eggs in one basket. According to SPORT , the club’s recruitment department has drawn up a shortlist of alternative candidates, with three names emerging as the leading options should the pursuit of Alvarez fail. Three forwards on Barcelona’s list Among the alternatives, Harry Kane remains one of the most admired names within the club. Despite approaching his 33rd birthday, the Bayern Munich striker continues to perform at an elite level and is still regarded as one of the most complete centre-forwards in world football.  The biggest obstacle, however, is Bayern Munich’s position, as the Bundesliga giants have no intention of selling one of their most important players, making any move difficult from the outset. The 19-year-old is viewed as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe and is particularly appreciated by Deco.  However, Bournemouth’s valuation could become a major stumbling block, with the Premier League club seeking around €100 million, a figure that Barcelona will not match under any circumstances. The third candidate is Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal. Although not a traditional target man, Oyarzabal’s intelligence, versatility and ability to link play make him an intriguing option for Flick.  His familiarity with La Liga and proven consistency also strengthen his case. Alvarez remains the complete package and appears to be the club’s first choice for both the present and the future.  Kane would offer immediate guarantees and world-class experience, while Kroupi represents a long-term investment with enormous upside. Oyarzabal, meanwhile, may be the most realistic option from a tactical and financial perspective.  For now, Barcelona’s focus remains on Alvarez, but as the transfer market continues to evolve, the club is making sure they have several high-profile alternatives ready should their biggest attacking dream fail to materialise.
