That is according to Matteo Moretto, who revealed in MARCA that signing a midfielder remains a priority at the Santiago Bernabeu regardless of the arrivals already secured this summer. As Real Madrid continue assessing the market, several names have emerged as potential targets, although one player continues to stand out above the rest – Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández. Simply put, admiring Enzo Fernandez and signing him are two very different things. There are more problems The biggest obstacle is Chelsea’s position. The Argentine remains under contract until 2032 and is viewed as one of the pillars of the club’s long-term project.  In fact, according to the report, the London side would demand around €140 million before even considering a sale. Furthermore, competition could also become a factor, as reports suggest Enzo Maresca is keen to work with the midfielder at Manchester City. At Real Madrid, the club will certainly continue searching for midfield reinforcements, but whether that player turns out to be Enzo Fernandez, Mateus Fernandes, Kees Smit or another target entirely remains to be seen.
