FK Vojvodina and Ferencváros will face either Ajax or FC Twente In an interesting twist of fate, the tie between FK Vojvodina and Ferencváros will determine the opponents of both Ajax and FC Twente in their quests to qualify for European football. The winner of the tie will go on to face FC Twente on the road to the Europa League, while the loser will be set for Amsterdam and a clash with Ajax. Should it be Serbian side FK Vojvodina that face Ajax, it will be a repeat of a Europa League qualifier from two seasons ago, albeit a Conference League clash this time around. Ajax are set for the Conference League and will be under pressure to get there after another poor domestic season. Ajax will go into the qualification rounds of the Conference League with a new head coach, having appointed former Girona boss Michel just a few seasons ago. FC Twente, on the other hand, had a good season and will, like Ajax, be confident of progressing regardless of their opponents in qualification. The side missed out on European football last season and will be hoping to make their return this time around, with the added buffer of dropping into the Conference League qualification rounds should they lose in the Europa League.
