Trio to leave Sheffield United Sheffield United have confirmed that Abbie Lafayette, Emma Taylor and Charlotte Parker-Smith will be leaving the club when their current contracts expire at the end of the month. The Blades announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening. Defender Lafayette joined Sheffield United in summer 2024 after leaving Watford. She started every Barclays WSL2 match for The Blades this season. Centre-back Taylor signed for Sheffield United last summer after being made redundant by Blackburn Rovers. She made 11 appearances for the South Yorkshire side in Barclays WSL2 this season, scoring one goal. Goalkeeper Parker-Smith joined Sheffield United from Hearts last summer. She made six appearances for the club in Barclays WSL2 in which she conceded 13 goals. Nine first team players are under contract with Sheffield United for next season while the club are locked in negotiations with Sian Rogers, Leanne Cowan, Charlie Devlin and Sophie O’Rourke. It has been reported that Sheffield United will continue to support Molly Graham, Alyssa Aherne and Grace Foy as they bid to recover from injury. The club have not confirmed their long-term plans for the trio. Sheffield United ended the 2025/2026 season in 11th place in the Barclays WSL2 table with 18 points from 22 games.
