Barcelona prepared to facilitate summer exit as forgotten star looks for solution beyond La Liga Inaki Pena’s time at Barcelona appears to be drawing to a close, with the goalkeeper keen to settle his future before the club’s pre-season preparations begin next month. The 27-year-old has now accepted that he is not part of Hansi Flick’s plans for the upcoming campaign, and with Barcelona’s goalkeeping hierarchy already defined, a summer exit is increasingly viewed as the most likely outcome. According to Mundo Deportivo , Pena is eager to avoid any uncertainty and wants his next move finalised as soon as possible.  While he remains under contract with Barcelona until 2029, both player and club appear to be moving towards the same conclusion: a separation before the new season gets underway. Ideally, the goalkeeper is expected to report back on July 13 alongside Barcelona players who are not involved in the FIFA World Cup for the pre-season preparation .  However, there is growing confidence that his future could be resolved before then. Barcelona are understood to be willing to facilitate his departure and are not expected to create obstacles if a suitable solution is found.  The Catalan club’s priority is to reach an agreement that benefits all parties while maintaining some level of control over any future transfer value. That choice has narrowed the list of possible destinations, with clubs from Central Europe emerging as potential options.  Turkey is also being mentioned as a realistic possibility given the goalkeeper’s positive previous experience at Galatasaray, where he spent part of the 2021/22 season on loan. For now, the player’s camp is waiting for concrete offers to arrive, but there is optimism that negotiations could accelerate in the coming days.  Simply put, Pena’s objective is to resolve his future quickly and begin preparations with his new club ahead of the 2026/27 season.
