Erling Haaland’s message to Bernardo Silva after completing Real Madrid move: ‘See you in the…’ Bernardo Silva’s arrival at Real Madrid has generated huge excitement, but it was the reaction from some of football’s biggest stars that became one of the main talking points following the official announcement. The Portuguese midfielder was unveiled as Real Madrid’s latest signing , prompting messages from teammates, former colleagues and rivals across the football world.  While several responses were expected, one comment in particular immediately caught the attention of fans. Simply put, Erling Haaland’s brief but intriguing message was enough to make everyone talk. Mbappe, Vinicius and Rodrygo welcome Bernardo The first wave of reactions came from inside the Real Madrid dressing room. Kylian Mbappe, who shared a dressing room with Bernardo Silva during their time together at Monaco, was among the first players to publicly welcome the Portuguese international. Responding to Real Madrid’s announcement, Mbappe wrote. “Welcome to the best club in the world.” Bernardo Silva has signed for Real Madrid. Rodrygo welcomed the midfielder by writing, “Welcome, star.” Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior posted, “Welcome, brother.” Haaland’s comment was different While the messages from Real Madrid players were largely expected, Haaland’s response immediately became a major discussion point. Having spent several seasons playing alongside Bernardo Silva at Manchester City, the Norwegian striker knows the Portuguese playmaker better than most. Reacting to the transfer announcement, Haaland simply wrote. “See you in the semi-finals.” The comment left supporters wondering exactly what the Manchester City striker meant. Some interpreted the message as a reference to a potential FIFA World Cup semi-final clash, while others viewed it as a nod to another possible Champions League showdown between Real Madrid and Manchester City. Struggle in World Cup opener Despite the excitement surrounding his transfer, Bernardo Silva’s first major appearance since joining Real Madrid did not go entirely to plan. Starting for Portugal in their World Cup opener against DR Congo, the midfielder struggled to make his usual impact and was substituted at half-time. An early yellow card appeared to affect his game, while Portugal also found it difficult to break down a disciplined defensive block.  Operating on the right wing, Silva was unable to influence proceedings in the way fans have become accustomed to seeing. He recorded 23 touches and completed 17 of his 18 passes, including four passes into the final third, but rarely threatened to take control of the match. However, it must be remembered that one underwhelming World Cup performance is unlikely to concern Real Madrid.
