Newcastle United midfielder Kelly signs new deal Newcastle United midfielder Emma Kelly has signed a new contract with the club. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this afternoon. The 29-year-old joined Newcastle United in summer 2023 after leaving former club Sunderland. Kelly has gone on to make 44 appearances for The Magpies in all competitions. The player made 11 appearances for the Tynesiders in Barclays WSL2 this season. Kelly was a member of the Newcastle United side that won promotion to the elite game in 2023/2024. The midfielder has plenty more to offer Newcastle United and the club have therefore moved to extend her contract beyond this summer. After signing on again with The Magpies, Kelly said “I’m over the moon, I think I’ve made it clear how much I wanted to remain at the club. Newcastle brought my love back for the sport and it’s felt like home ever since I came here. “I think everyone knows how historic and big this club is. It has been a massive part of my career.” Newcastle United ended the 2025/2026 campaign in sixth position in the Barclays WSL2 table.  The club will be hoping to achieve more next season with promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League being the primary goal.
