Max Bonfill has officially extended his contract until June 2027, with the club holding the option to prolong the deal by a further year. Following the end of his youth career, the 19-year-old will now make the step up to Barça Atletic. Widely regarded as one of the standout goalkeepers of the generation that includes Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi and Marc Bernal, he has progressed steadily through the ranks and established himself as a key figure for the Under-19 side. Standing at 1.92 metres, Bonfill combines strong reflexes with command of his penalty area and an impressive ability to build play from the back, qualities highly valued within Barcelona’s playing philosophy. He has also captained various youth teams, demonstrating leadership and maturity beyond his years. A strong final season at youth level Bonfill enjoyed an excellent campaign with the Juvenil A side this season, making 21 league appearances and conceding just 11 goals. One of his standout moments came in a penalty shoot-out against Valencia, where he produced three saves to help his side progress. Taking the next step Bonfill is already familiar with the environment at Barça Atletic. Over the past two seasons, he has received several call-ups to the reserve side and has also trained with Hansi Flick’s first team, leaving a positive impression on the coaching staff.
