Real Madrid prepared to pay €220m for leading forward target
Real Madrid prepared to pay €220m for leading forward target It has already been a very busy summer for Real Madrid, but as the weeks go on, it could go to another level. €80m has already been spent on Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries on top of free signings Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva, but club bosses are prepared to break the bank to drastically improve Jose Mourinho’s squad. A second central defender is wanted, and while the likes of Ruben Dias on their radar, Real Madrid could have to spend another significant amount there. But the big spends would come in midfield and attack, where Mourinho wants world class players to help the club bounce back from two successive seasons without a major trophy. Real Madrid have already agreed personal terms with Enzo Fernandez , who would cost in excess of €100m to sign from Chelsea. They hope to get that deal done in the coming weeks, at which point they will turn their attention to the right side of their attack, where Florentino Perez hopes to bring in Michael Olise. Perez has been a big fan of Olise for some time, and he sees him as the ideal signing to kick-start his new tenure as president. Bayern Munich are determined to hang on to the French winger, but according to Marca , Real Madrid are prepared to spend as much as €220m to ensure they secure his signature this summer. Real Madrid may start with €150m offer Image via Reinaldo Coddou H./Getty Images Olise was one of the players that Perez considered paying €150m for upon being re-elected as president, but in the end, that offer went towards Julian Alvarez. Given that was turned down, Real Madrid will still have those funds to put towards the 24-year-old, and it’s now known there is an additional €70m that can be used if deemed necessary. It’ll certainly be very interesting to see whether Real Madrid make a serious attempt to sign Olise this summer. It would surely be very difficult for Bayern Munich to turn down a €220m bid if it came in, especially as it’d the second-highest transfer of all time if a deal was done (after PSG spent €222m on Neymar Junior in 2017).
