PSG’s Achraf Hakimi says he is ‘an easy target’ as rape trial confirmed

PSG’s Achraf Hakimi says he is ‘an easy target’ as rape trial confirmed Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi will stand trial on accusations of rape, as confirmed on Friday morning, after Versailles’ Court of Appeal rejected the Morocco international’s to appeal the injunction for prosecution.  The Magistrate considers that there are sufficient grounds to justify a trial in the criminal court. The charges, which Hakimi denies, pertain to an incident that occured in February 2023. On February 25, 2023, a young woman went to the Nogent-sur-Marne police station to file a report against the PSG full-back. She described going to his home the previous day, around 1:15 a.m., and being sexually assaulted. In the summer of 2025, prosecutors requested that Hakimi stand trial. It was a decision confirmed in February. Hakimi appealed but it has now been confirmed that the appeal has been unsuccessful. The trial is set to take place in the coming months. Speaking on social media platform  X,   Hakimi reacted to the judgement:  “The Justice looked me right in the eyes and said: ‘If you weren’t famous, there wouldn’t be an affair.’ I chose to keep quiet for years. I thought that remaining dignified, being patient, and trusting in justice, would allow for the correct decisions to be taken.” “Now, a story that is not my own is being told to the detriment of my family, my life, and, most of all, to truth. I sometimes get the feeling of having become an easy target. I have been awaiting this process from the very first day and now I await it with impatience.”  Hakimi is currently at the FIFA World Cup, competing with the Morocco national team.
