Manchester City Are Keeping Tabs On This Eredivisie Full-Back: What Will He Bring To The Etihad? In a recent report , Sky Sports mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read. It is believed that the Mancunian club are eyeing a move to bring the Dutch talent to the Etihad Stadium in this transfer window. Read’s Impressive Form In The Eredivisie Read managed to impress at times with his performances on the right side of Feyenoord’s defence in the previous campaign. The Dutch talent played in 20 matches for his current employers last season, scoring two goals and grabbing three assists across all fronts. The 20-year-old is currently among the most gifted young full-backs in the Dutch Eredivisie. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are hoping to get him on board later this year. His current contract at the Dutch club will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to sign him on the cheap this off-season. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when needed and is a good crosser of the ball as well from the right flank. The Dutch talent is a decent dribbler with the ball and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. Read is primarily a right-back but can also function as a left-back if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Mancunian giants manage to get a deal done for him this summer. Read would bring more quality and depth to Manchester City’s defence. He is already good enough to fight with Matheus Nunes for a regular starting place at the Etihad Stadium next season. At 20, the future looks quite bright for Read as long as he continues to improve with each year. He will also help Man City compete across all fronts in the coming years. Therefore, the Premier League outfit would be wise to lure him to England before the end of this summer transfer period.
