Liverpool paid Osasuna’s €40m clause that was inserted in Munoz’s contract - with €20m of that already due to be paid to Madrid. It’s been reported in Defensa Central that Munoz triggered a minimum appearance clause during his one season with Osasuna - adding another €500k to the coffers. Add in the €5m that Madrid received for his sale last summer and it all adds up to €25.5m paid to the 15-time European champions for their former La Fabrica product.
