Liverpool turn down Inter Milan’s second offer for Curtis Jones

Liverpool turn down Inter Milan’s second offer for Curtis Jones Liverpool have turned down Inter Milan’s second bid of £21 million for Curtis Jones, per The Times .  The Reds are said to be unhappy with Inter’s considerably low offer and do not consider the Serie A champions as serious contenders for the 25-year-old.  They value the midfielder at £35m, benchmarking their price tag against Conor Gallagher’s move to Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid in January for a similar fee.   Jones has been an important member of Liverpool’s first-team over the years, amassing 228 appearances across all competitions and scoring 22 goals.  But he has never nailed down a consistent starting role and the Merseyside giants don’t consider him untouchable.  Last season, Jones featured in 30 Premier League games, with only 18 coming from the start.  With only a year left on his current contract at Anfield, Liverpool are not in a strong negotiating position.  But despite the risk of losing the midfielder for nothing next summer, they are not prepared to lower their asking price.  Liverpool have already confirmed the departures of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, while Ibrahima Konate is on his way to Real Madrid on a free transfer.  There are also speculations over the futures of  Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo, who are all due to be out of contract in 2027.  Stats from Transfermarkt
