Real Madrid scouting €100m forward at 2026 World Cup
Real Madrid scouting €100m forward at 2026 World Cup In recent weeks, it has been widely reported that Real Madrid want to sign Bayern Munich and France winger Michael Olise. The 25-year-old is Florentino Perez’s great desire to strengthen the right side of attack, although it will be much easier said than done to prise him away from Bavaria. Bayern are clear that Olise is not for sale, and already, plans are underway to offer him a new contract once his 2026 World Cup involvement comes to an end. In the meantime, Real Madrid are readying a proposal that would be the second-most expensive in football history, but even that may not be enough to get a deal over the line. While that situation drags on, Real Madrid have starting looking at alternatives, and as reported by OK Diario (via MD ), head scout Juni Calafat has been present at the World Cup to cast an eye over Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande. Diomande is a player that Real Madrid have been aware of for some time. He was previously in La Liga with Leganes prior to joining RB Leipzig last summer, and after only a year in Germany, a big-money move appears to be on the cards. Liverpool have already seen an offer of €100m knocked back, but they are expected to go in again for the 19-year-old. Should Real Madrid go for Diomande instead of Olise? Photo by Dan Mullan/Getty Images Diomande would be much cheaper than Olise, but even so, it could take as much as €120m to sign him. That is a lot of money for a player that has only full season at the top of European football. However, he showed a fantastic level at RB Leipzig, and at 19, he will only get better and better as the years go on. Diomande is a player that perfectly aligns with the transfer policy that Real Madrid have adopted in recent years, that being to spend big on high-potential players. However, this has been somewhat scrapped in the last few weeks since Jose Mourinho returned as head coach.
