Manchester United make enquiries over deal to sign Bournemouth’s Alex Scott Manchester United are interested in signing Bournemouth star Alex Scott in the ongoing summer transfer window .  According to The Athletic , the Red Devils have made enquiries over a deal to sign Scott.  Bournemouth are trying hard to tie him down to a fresh deal, with his current contract expiring in 2028.  The 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2025-26 season at the Cherries, amassing 37 Premier League appearances and scoring three goals.  Scott has seen a meteoric rise in the last few years, emerging as one of the best young midfielders in England.  He has already made 89 senior appearances for Bournemouth, impressing with his ball-carrying skills, tactical versatility and defensive diligence.  With Champions League football back on the agenda, Man Utd are looking to strengthen their ranks this summer.  They have already agreed a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson, and the transfer will likely be announced in July.  But with Casemiro leaving and Manuel Ugarte expected to be sold, the club need more reinforcements in midfield for next season.  West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes remains United’s priority target , but the Hammers’ staggering £80m asking price is making negotiations difficult for them.  Michael Carrick’s side are considering Scott as an alternative option.  But a deal for the young midfielder is also not easy, as he is highly rated by Bournemouth who could demand a substantial fee for a transfer.  Stats from Transfermarkt
