The equation for Real Madrid seems to revolve around whether they take the money for Paz now, or gamble on the idea that he could return down the line as a better player, or indeed as a more expensive candidate for a sale. This of course comes with an element of risk, but he has been on an upward trajectory under Cesc Fabregas. Already in a similar role, Real Madrid have Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz, with Bernardo Silva also able to operate as an advanced playmaker , reducing the chances that he has of coming back and featuring under Mourinho.
