Auxerre submit Arthur Piedfort bid

Auxerre submit Arthur Piedfort bid AJ Auxerre have submitted a bid for KVC Westerlo’s Arthur Piedfort (21), according to a report from   Sacha Tavolieri. The Belgium youth international’s deal at KVC Westerlo is up next summer and so he could be on the move during the current transfer window. Auxerre are looking to build a team in the image of new manager Will Still and have set their sights on Piedfort, a defensive midfielder. The value of that bid,  Tavolieri  understands, is €4m.  The journalist adds that talks between the two clubs are at an advanced stage and it is expected that an agreement will be found. In any case, the player in question has already reached an agreement with  L’AJA,  who, last season, narrowly avoided relegation to Ligue 2. He could be the second KVC Westerlo player to make the move to France’s top-flight. As revealed by  Tavolieri  earlier on Wednesday, Piedfort’s teammate, Bryan Reynolds, is the subject of a bid from Stade Rennais. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
