Strasbourg and Newcastle target Pierre Mounguengue set to join Dynamo Kyiv

Strasbourg and Newcastle target Pierre Mounguengue set to join Dynamo Kyiv Paris Saint-Germain’s Pierre Mounguengue (18) is expected to sign for Dynamo Kyiv shortly, according to reports from Onze Mondial . Having previously been targeted by RC Strasbourg Alsace and Newcastle United, the forward has ultimately decided to prioritise the Ukrainian club’s project, won over by the determination of club chairman Ihor Surkis, who has offered him a three-year contract and guarantees of playing time in the first team. The prospect of competing in the Champions League should they qualify was also a factor. Author of a highly successful season (21 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions) with PSG’s Under-19s – and even making his debut under Luis Enrique against FC Lorient in early May – Mounguengue is now set to set off for new horizons, having visited Dynamo’s training facilities in recent days. Yet another loss for PSG, who, despite offering a contract, failed to provide the young striker with a clear and convincing vision for the future. GFFN  |  Léo Aschi
