The 25-year-old joined the Baggies on a free transfer from Austrian club TSV Hartberg in 2024 and has so far made 63 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal. West Brom initially activated a 12-month extension clause in March before agreeing a new improved deal which will keep the Mali international at The Hawthorns until at least the summer of 2029. "When I first came here, it was a little tough, but now I've adapted to the new challenge and I'm ready to get properly into next season," Diakite told the West Brom website. "We have a beautiful family here and that makes me very happy." Albion finished 21st in the Championship last season, four points clear of the relegation zone and the fixtures for the new campaign will be published at 12:00 BST on Thursday, 25 June.
