For weeks, Inter had been working on a deal with Atalanta and appeared to be leading the race for one of Italy’s brightest young talents. However, Chelsea’s financial power and long-term project have ultimately convinced the player to make the move to the Premier League. The transfer raises important questions not only for Inter but also for Italian football as a whole. Palestra is regarded as one of the most promising Italian players of his generation, and many fans hoped he would continue his development in Serie A before eventually becoming a cornerstone of the Italian national team.
