With the Blaugrana working to improve their financial position and create room for further signings, speculation has surrounded several first-team players in recent weeks.  Ronald Araujo has frequently been mentioned among those whose future could come under scrutiny, particularly after a season in which injuries and increased competition reduced his influence within the squad. However, the latest information suggests Barcelona are not preparing to part ways with the Uruguayan international this summer. According to Mundo Deportivo , despite ongoing rumours linking Araujo with a possible exit, the defender is currently expected to stay at the club for the 2026/27 campaign. That reality has inevitably led to speculation surrounding some of Barcelona’s biggest assets, including Araujo. The centre-back’s role became less secure last season as competition in defence increased, while injuries also limited his impact during crucial stages of the campaign. Araujo will not leave According to the aforementioned outlet, though, the recent reports questioning Araujo’s future do not reflect Barcelona’s current plans. While the club remain prepared to evaluate exceptional offers for any player if it benefits the project financially, an exit for the Uruguayan defender is not expected during this transfer window. Barcelona continue to view Araujo as an important member of the dressing room, not only because of his leadership role but also because of the quality and experience he brings to Hansi Flick’s defensive unit. Unless there is a dramatic change in circumstances before the transfer deadline, the expectation within the club is that Araujo will remain at Spotify Camp Nou and compete for a regular starting place throughout the new season.
