'That's come out of nowhere!' Elanga secures Sweden last-32 spot

Anthony Elanga became the first Sweden international to score in consecutive World Cup matches since Martin Dahlin and Kennet Andersson in 1994, having curled in a stunner to earn a point against Japan. The Newcastle United winger's goal from 28.9 metres out is the second-longest scored by a Sweden international at a World Cup since records began in 1966 - only beaten by Anders Svensson's goal from 30.9m against Argentina in 2002. A 1-1 draw for Graham Potter's side at Dallas Stadium meant they finished third in Group F on four points and secured a spot in the last 32, where they will play one of France, Norway, Germany or Switzerland.
