No investigation into Rowley transfer allegations

Billy Rowley guided Yeovil Town to a 16th-placed finish in the National League [Shutterstock] The Football Association (FA) will not investigate allegations that Yeovil Town boss Billy Rowley tried to poach players from his former club. Rowley took over as the National League side's manager in November from Southern Premier League South side Walton and Hersham. In mid-May, the Surrey club, who went on to win promotion to National League South, accused Rowley of making "repeated attempts to influence contracted players regarding their futures." The club went on to say it would be making a complaint to the FA. However, in a statement on Friday, an FA spokesperson told BBC Sport: "We can confirm that there is no ongoing investigation into Yeovil Town FC or any members of its staff. "Walton and Hersham FC submitted an official complaint to us, but we haven't received sufficient evidence to support a further investigation into this matter." In the weeks following the accusations, Yeovil signed winger Mason Obeng and midfielder Johl Powell from Walton and Hersham.
