Plymouth Argyle sign Wolves goalkeeper Storer

James Storer played 32 times for Greenock Morton last season [Plymouth Argyle] Plymouth Argyle have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper James Storer on a two-year contract. The 21-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-19 goalkeeper also has an option for a third year at the League One side. Storer, who had been under contract at Molineux for the forthcoming season, joins on a free transfer, having left the club after eight years with their academy. In that time, he has had loan spells at Chester City and Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton - for whom he was named Young Player of the Year at the end of last season. "James is a good shot-stopper, and has a good eye for distribution," head coach Tom Cleverley told the Plymouth Argyle website. "He had a really good season with Morton, and we think he has great development in front of him. "I spoke to several people I know who James has worked with, and they spoke very highly of his attitude and ability. It's good to have him on board." Storer comes in after first-choice goalkeeper Conor Hazard and young stopper Zak Baker left Home Park for Wycombe Wanderers and Torquay United respectively. "James is very experienced for someone of his age, and he is already a very good goalkeeper," added Argyle's director of football Derek Adams. All done deals in June 2026
