Confirmed: Real Madrid agree mutual contract termination with midfielder
Confirmed: Real Madrid agree mutual contract termination with midfielder Real Madrid have officially announced that they have reached an agreement with midfielder Dani Ceballos over a mutual contract termination. The 29-year-old Spanish international now leaves the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent after having terminated his contract which still had one year left on it. “Real Madrid CF and Dani Ceballos have decided, by mutual agreement, to end his time as a player for our club,” the club statement read. A spell that left a lot to be desired Ceballos joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2017 from Real Betis as one of the most promising young midfielders in Spain. However, things never got going for the midfielder at the Spanish capital club. After two seasons during which he did not play much, he left for Arsenal on a two-year loan. Upon returning, Ceballos was convinced to continue at the club by Carlo Ancelotti, but the midfielder, despite showing glimpses of promise and quality, never really managed to establish himself as a regular. The last couple of seasons saw him barely feature for Los Blancos , especially in the latter half of the 2025/26 season when he had a falling out with Alvaro Arbeloa. Ceballos has left Real Madrid.
