Official | Julien Lachuer named Brest manager Julien Lachuer has been named the successor to Eric Roy at Stade Brestois, the Ligue 1 club confirmed on Saturday. Brest head coach Eric Roy passed away last week at 58 . His family revealed that he had been battling pancreatic cancer for three-and-a-half years. His illness had been kept under wraps throughout his time at Brest. Lachuer was notably responsible for leading the team’s training sessions. A former Brest goalkeeper, the coach holds the necessary qualification to manage the first team of a professional club. Lachuer has signed a two-year deal with Les Ty-Zéfs. His appointment comes just before the return for pre-season training. The Breton club will return following their summer break on 2nd July. There is still uncertainty around the club, however. Grégory Lorenzi left to join Olympique de Marseille earlier this summer. The sporting director has yet to be replaced, whilst club owner and president Denis Le Saint is open to a sale.
