Juventus make new contact with Aston Villa for Emi Martinez
Juventus make new contact with Aston Villa for Emi Martinez Serie A side Juventus remain in the hunt for a new goalkeeper. They have had several options on the table but they continue to make in-roads in a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez. The Argentine is playing at the World Cup for his national team but the Italian press has always felt his future could be up in the air. They believe he is happy to join Juve too. TuttoJuve’s Mirko di Natale reports the Old Lady’s attempts haven’t stopped. They have made new contact with Aston Villa for his possible signature this week. Efforts are underway to make sure that the Villans’ price tag reduces but it is still at over €10 million. That is where it is at but attempts could still keep going, with Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario still very much an option. Meanwhile, Juve could also soon speak to Michele Di Gregorio’s agent to sort out his future. Villa under no pressure A lot of this seems agent driven as the English media has never spoken in detail about Martinez’s future. This suggests Aston Villa are quite calm and are under no pressure to execute Martinez’s sale. Kaustubh Pandey – GIFN
