OGC Nice in talks to sign Metz captain Gauthier Hein

OGC Nice in talks to sign Metz captain Gauthier Hein OGC Nice are in advanced talks to sign FC Metz captain Gauthier Hein (29), as per a report from  Foot Mercato.  Hein rejoined Metz from AJ Auxerre two years ago. He did so despite the former’s relegation and the latter’s promotion that year. He captained  Les Grenats  as they returned to the top flight at the first time of asking, but despite some strong individual performances (eight goals, seven assists in Ligue 1), he couldn’t prevent Metz from relegation back to Ligue 2 last season.  He may remain in France’s top flight, however. Nice are looking to rebuild after themselves flirting with relegation last season.  Les Aiglons  have already appointed a new manager in the form of Olivier Pantaloni, whilst the arrival of a new sporting director is expected to be concluded soon. Hein could be part of that rebuild. The Frenchman is in talks with Nice, although they have yet to submit an offer to Metz. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
