Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Atletico Madrid are “advancing” in their attempts to sign Kang-in Lee from PSG, with an agreement over a transfer fee looking close after personal terms were agreed “days ago”. (Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images) This deal has looked inevitable for a while now. Lee is a really useful squad player for Luis Enrique and plays a lot, but he’s accepted he’s not going to crack the first Xi and wants to play somewhere where he’s a star player. A return to Spain where he played for many years makes sense, and it’s easy to see him becoming a favourite for Diego Simeone. There had been some late interest from Juventus, but if anything that seems to have just pushed Atletico to secure a deal rather than provided a major obstacle for the Spanish side. PSG, meanwhile, are working on potential replacements for Lee… In other news… Maghnes Akliouche is coming to PSG by all accounts – but it may take some time to hammer out a deal for the Monaco man. Kang-in Lee to Atletico Madrid looked like a done deal, but now Juventus seem to be putting a bit of pressure on over a deal.
