Real Madrid may have to rethink departures because of UEFA regulations
Real Madrid may have to rethink departures because of UEFA regulations After having made several new additions to their team this summer, the most urgent priority for Real Madrid right now is to ensure some exits. This is particularly the case as the Merengue team is currently overburdened, and they need to complete several departure operations before they can make any new signings. For this purpose, the white club has already developed a list of players whom it is open to selling. Including players like Eduardo Camavinga, Fran Garcia, Gonzalo Garcia, Alvaro Carreras, and Raul Asencio. However, all of these players are Spanish nationals, and as SPORT has noted, this can create a problem for Real Madrid, as UEFA Champions League requires at least 8 players of the same nationality from which a team hails, and at least 4 of these players have to be their own academy-trained. Last season, the Merengue club had up to ten players who were considered, national, i.e., Carvajal, Asencio, Carreras, Fran García, Camavinga, Valverde, Ceballos, Rodrygo, Vinicius, and Gonzalo. Of these players, Carvajal and Ceballos have already left , while the Vikings are also listening to offers for the five previously mentioned players. Thus, for the next season, Real Madrid would have only Valverde, Rodrygo, and Vinicius from among these players. To this list would be added Arda Guler, who would complete his three years in Spain, and Marc Cucurella, who played till 23 years of age in Spain, and who has recently been signed by the Merengues. In such a situation, Jose Mourinho might have to alter his list of players whom he wants sold, but it remains to be seen how this situation would develop as the summer goes on and Real Madrid finalize their transfer plans after the new manager sees his players in action in the preseason training, which is set to start on 13 th July.
