The new head of the Italian FA is seeking to appoint a new technical director of the national team – Paolo Maldini among the candidates – and will then move on to the appointment of a new head coach. However, according to Monday’s reports from the Corriere dello Sport , the Italy national team is not the only option that awaits Conte, who left his position with Napoli at the end of the 2025-26 season. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are reportedly willing to offer Conte a ‘dizzying’ salary to take over from short-lived Milan boss Conceicao as head coach. The Corriere dello Sport remains confident that Conte would still accept an offer from the Italy set-up if he is the no.1 candidate, but if an offer does not arrive, he will be left evaluating whether to take some time off or to accept a new and potentially extremely lucrative offer abroad.
