Lincoln sign defender Elder from Derby

Callum Elder has won three promotions to the Championship, most recently with Derby County [Shutterstock] Lincoln City have made their first signing since winning promotion to the Championship, bringing in left-back Callum Elder on a two-year contract. The 31-year-old Australia international was out of contract at Derby County, having helped the Rams to regain their second-tier status in 2024 and featured 28 times for the club last season. As well as Derby, the defender has Championship experience with four other clubs – Brentford, Barnsley, Ipswich Town and Hull City. "I had some really good conversations with [Lincoln head coaches] Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw," he told the Imps' website . "For them to believe I am someone who can help to take the club forward is really exciting for me. I can't wait to give everything I have to help achieve that." Elder, who started his career at Leicester City, has also had spells with Mansfield Town, Peterborough United and Wigan Athletic.
