Real Madrid star stands ground as club push for summer exit
Real Madrid star stands ground as club push for summer exit Ahead of the summer transfer window opening on Wednesday, Real Madrid have shifted their attention to exits. They have already offloaded Dani Ceballos after agreeing a mutual contract termination with the 29-year-old, who may not be the only first team midfielder to depart before the end of August. Given that Real Madrid are planning to sign Enzo Fernandez after the 2026 World Cup is over, it is likely that a big-name midfielder departs to balance the books from that deal, which would cost well in excess of €100m. At this stage, two names are standing out in this regard, those being Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. According to The Athletic , it is Camavinga that Real Madrid would rather sell. He has less of a place in Jose Mourinho’s squad, given that his prominence is at an all-time low at the Bernabeu following a dismal 2025-26 season where he struggled with form and fitness. Camavinga considers Real Madrid exit to be “impossible” Real Madrid may well want to sell Camavinga, who is attracting interest from Liverpool , but the player has made it abundantly clear that he has no intention of leaving the Bernabeu in 2026. Through his representatives, he has informed that club that any sale would be “impossible”, as he is only thinking about turning around his situation in the Spanish capital. Because of this, Real Madrid have started to look towards selling Tchouameni, who is also attracting interest from the Premier League – namely from Manchester United and Chelsea. At this stage, it is unclear whether he would want to leave, although there is unlikely to be as much pushback from his side as there was with Camavinga. It’ll be interesting to see how the situation with Camavinga and Tchouameni plays out over the coming weeks and months, but Real Madrid will have a job on their hands selling one of them.
