Left-back Mesik, 25, has signed a four-year contract as the Addicks' first close-season signing. "We've monitored Ivan for a while and he comes with real good pedigree playing in the Eredivisie," Charlton manager Nathan Jones said. "He's an excellent athlete, a great size and very versatile in terms of being able to play down the left-hand side and can cover the right side as well. "We beat off an awful lot of competition to get him and he'll provide a wonderful option down that left-hand side." England is the sixth different country Mesik has played his club football in. He left his homeland to move to Denmark in 2020, spending three years with Nordsjaelland, with loan spells at Norwegian clubs Stabaek and Odd. Mesik then spent a season with Italian third-tier club Pescara in 2023, before signing for Heracles in the Netherlands in 2024. Latest Charlton Athletic news, analysis and fan views
