Bournemouth respond to Arsenal transfer enquiry Bournemouth have rebuffed an enquiry from Arsenal over Alex Scott, insisting the player is not for sale, and attempting to extend his contract. Photo by Justin Setterfield/Getty Images Sami Mokbel broke the news for the BBC on Monday that Bournemouth had rejected an enquiry from Arsenal for Alex Scott , claiming the midfielder is not for sale this summer. Mokbel reports that Scott is one of Arsenal’s targets for their midfield, though he’s also attracting serious interest from Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea. But amid all of that interest, Bournemouth have made it clear they want to keep Scott around, and they’re keen to extend his contract beyond its current expiry in 2028. Bournemouth are reluctant to cash in right now, after qualifying for Europe, though it seems Arsenal are the leading contender if they do. Luckhurst reports that Manchester United are also interested, but they aren’t actively pursuing Scott. Instead, they’re focusing on a deal for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes . Photo by Clive Rose/Getty Images David Ornstein told  The Athletic FC podcast last week that Scott had been discussed at Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of this summer, with suggestions from Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail that the player would cost around £60m if he were to be sold. Meanwhile, James Ducker reported for The Telegraph that whilst Bournemouth are keen to keep Scott, they might change their stance if he refused to extend his deal beyond 2028. The midfielder played 39 times for Bournemouth in all competitions this season, helping them to qualify for the Europa League in 2026/27.
