Stockport bring in defender O'Connell
Eoghan O'Connell scored once in 25 League One appearances for Barnsley in the second half of last season [Getty Images] Stockport County have signed defender Eoghan O'Connell on a two-year deal. The 30-year-old, who played alongside Hatters boss Jim McNulty at Rochdale, was a free agent after turning down a new contract with Barnsley. He joined the Tykes in January after leaving Wrexham and made 26 appearances in all competitions. "Eoghan has proven himself to be a highly competent operator at this level with a consistent level of performance," McNulty told the club's website. All done deals in June 2026
