Indonesian born German youth international set for Westerlo switch from Greuther Fürth
Indonesian born German youth international set for Westerlo switch from Greuther Fürth HNB are reporting that Westerlo are on the verge of signing Reno Münz from Greuther Fürth. The young defender, born in Indonesia, has represented Germany at youth level. Münz is a typical Westerlo signing in that he is only 20. The club have focused on bringing in young players with hopes to develop and sell on for larger fees. So far, this has worked reasonably well, although Westerlo would probably like to have achieved a bit more with the young players in their squad. Münz was part of the Bayer Leverkusen youth academy before leaving on a free to join Greuther Fürth in 2024. He has gone on to play 50 games for the first team since then, with 29 of these coming during the sides recent Bundesliga 2 season. The side struggled all year but avoided automatic relegation to the third tier with a dramatic final day victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf. They then beat Rot Weiss Essen over two legs to win the relegation play-off. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson
