Mbappé makes World Cup knockout history after scoring vs Sweden 📈 Kylian Mbappé is simply unstoppable in the World Cup. The French superstar opened the scoring in France's last-32 showdown with Sweden this evening in New Jersey, and made stunning history in the process.  Sweden keeper Jacob Zetterström was a brick-wall in the opening 45 minutes despite France peppering his goal with shots. It took until the cusp of stoppage-time for Mbappé to curl in the opener from inside the box for his fifth of the tournament, only trailing Lionel Messi for the Golden Boot.  But more importantly, the goal sees Mbappé become the highest scoring player in World Cup knockout history, passing Brazilian greats Leônidas and Ronaldo Nazário.  Still just 27-years-old, who knows how many more he can add to that ridiculous tally before all is said and done!
