Asencio’s own priority is understood to be staying and fighting for his place, but the club’s willingness to listen to offers complicates that ambition. While his preference is to remain at the club and win over Mourinho, the reality is that Real Madrid’s need to balance their squad may force the issue. His agent, Manuel Diaz, has a strong relationship with Mourinho’s representative, Jorge Mendes, a connection that could help facilitate a move should one materialise.
