WSL: Kamilla Melgård signs for Aston Villa from Madrid CFF Aston Villa have announced the signing of Norwegian midfielder Kamilla Melgård. The 20-year-old joins Villa from Spanish side Madrid CFF after establishing herself as one of Norway’s brightest young talents. Melgård began her senior career in the top division of women’s football in Norway with Lyn Fotball Damer, making her senior debut at 15 years old before going on to make more than 60 appearances in the Toppserien. Her performances earned her a move to Liga F side Madrid CFF in 2024, where she enjoyed an impressive debut season. The Norwegian is comfortable playing across midfield and attacking areas and contributed four goals and seven assists in the league. Melgård represents Norway on the international stage throughout the age youth groups and currently represents them at U23 level. “I’m really excited. It feels like a good opportunity. I feel like there are really good facilities here to grow, focus on football and continue developing as a player,” she said. Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers added: “Kamilla is an exciting young player with huge potential and we’re delighted to welcome her to Aston Villa. She has already shown her quality in Norway and Spain.
