At just 17 years and 259 days old, he became the second-youngest player ever to start a World Cup knockout-stage match, with only Pele having achieved the feat at a younger age. Notably, Ignacio Ruvalcaba, head of Tijuana Xolos’ youth academy, spoke about the youngster’s ambitions and confirmed that Gilberto Mora’s dream is to play for Real Madrid. “Gil Mora has a dream, which is to play for Real Madrid, but he has his feet firmly on the ground.  “He’s always watching football and loves watching Real Madrid; he probably sees himself playing there.  Gilberto Mora’s stocks will rise after the World Cup.
