Forward Adebayo leaves Luton
[Getty Images] Luton Town have announced the departure of forward Elijah Adebayo after more than five years at Kenilworth Road during which time he helped the Hatters win promotion to the Premier League. The 28-year-old joined Luton from Walsall for an undisclosed fee in February 2021 and went on to make 184 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 47 goals. Adebayo scored 10 goals in 27 Premier League games for Luton in the 2023-24 season but, after successive relegations into League One, the former Fulham youngster suffered serious injury setbacks. A cruciate ligament injury sustained in April 2025 kept him out of action until March this year and a hip problem picked up in the second game of his return ended his season as Luton narrowly missed out on the League One play-offs. Despite announcing he was in talks to sign a new contract when releasing their retained list in May, Luton have now confirmed Adebayo is leaving for pastures new.
