Official: Frosinone sell 80 per cent shares to Ipswich Town owners Frosinone were promoted to Serie A this summer and President Maurizio Stirpe has sold 80 per cent of his shares to Americans Clara Vista, who are already majority shareholders of Ipswich Town. The Canarini had long been tied to the Stirpe family, as Benito Stirpe was President along with brother Roberto from 1965-67, then his son Maurizio took over in 2003 soon after bankruptcy. After 23 years, he has now sold up most of his shares to American company Clara Vista, a company already known in the football world, as they are the majority shareholders of Ipswich Town. The cost of the sale is reported to be worth €41.5m, which should allow Frosinone to invest in infrastructure as well as improve the squad. Stirpe will retain 20 per cent of the club and stay on as President for at least another two years. “With this Clara Vista sale, we can inject fresh liquidity to Frosinone,” explained Stirpe. “I will remain as President for two years, Rosario Zoino will be CEO. Bob Gold, Charlie Lambropoulos and Wills Hapworth will be members of the board of directors. “This is not a short-term deal, at the end of the two years we’ll sit down and set out the plan for the future.”
