Real Madrid prepare improved contract offer worth €25m per year for Vinicius – report Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. have yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension, despite both parties sharing the same objective : keeping the Brazilian at the Santiago Bernabeu. With his current deal running until June 2027, negotiations have dragged on for more than a year, and the 25-year-old Brazilian now has less than twelve months left on the contract. Improved salary proposal incoming However, according to journalist Nacho Pena (h/t Defensa Central ), Real Madrid are preparing an improved offer that could be presented after the FIFA World Cup. Pena claimed that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is ready to increase the club’s latest proposal for the Brazilian winger. According to the journalist, the new offer would be worth €25 million net per season, an improvement on the previous proposal but still short of the player’s demands. Both sides want to stay together Pena, who also works with Real Madrid TV, stressed that neither side is looking for a separation at this point. Instead, the negotiations are focused on finding an agreement that satisfies both parties. Although talks have become increasingly complex, Real Madrid remain confident that Vinicius wants to continue at the club, while the Brazilian also sees his long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu.. Seeking Mbappe-level status At 25 years old, Vinicius is entering what many consider the peak of his career while still having the potential to remain among the world’s elite for many years. One of his primary objectives in the negotiations is to become the club’s highest-paid player, or at least earn a package comparable to Kylian Mbappe’s. The Frenchman currently receives the equivalent of around €30 million per year when combining his salary with the signing bonus that has been spread across the duration of his contract following his arrival in 2024. One of the biggest obstacles in negotiations concerns the Brazilian international’s request for a renewal bonus for agreeing to a new contract. Real Madrid, however, have traditionally refused to pay players simply for extending existing agreements, and Perez is reluctant to break with that long-standing policy. Image rights could be key While the club appears unwilling to grant a renewal bonus, there may be greater flexibility regarding image rights. Historically, Real Madrid have retained 50% of players’ commercial image-rights revenue, although exceptions have been made for superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, Vinicius could receive a larger share of those commercial earnings as part of a compromise that helps bridge the gap between the two parties. For now, negotiations remain open, with both Real Madrid and Vinicius continuing to work toward an agreement after the conclusion of the World Cup.
