Millwall keen on KV Mechelen’s impressive versatile midfielder

Millwall keen on KV Mechelen’s impressive versatile midfielder HNB are reporting that Millwall are in talks with KV Mechelen for former Belgian youth international Mathis Servais. The 21-year-old only joined KV Mechelen from SK Beveren last summer but had an immediate impact on the side. After an impressive debut season in the top flight of Belgian football, the former Club Brugge youngster looks set for a move to England with Millwall. After watching Servais star for KV Mechelen last season, it is not surprising that a club like Millwall are keen on signing the 21-year-old. Servais spent four seasons with SK Beveren int he second tier, with a breakout season during the 2024/2025 campaign. After eight goals and eight assists in 33 games he was snapped up by KV Mechelen, who needed midfield reinforcements after losing captain Rob Schoofs to Union St Gilloise. Servais came in and played 34 games for the side, scoring twice and providing four assists. His versatility is one of his key strengths, and Millwall could get a player capable of playing centrally and out wide, either further forward or in a more conventional midfield position.
