Manchester City Are Ready To Step Up Their Chase Of This Ligue 1 Midfielder: Should They Go For Him? In a recent post on X , respected journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City are ready to step up their chase of Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian outfit are showing interest in recruiting the Morocco international and are willing to let him stay at the French club for the upcoming campaign. Bouaddi’s Impressive Rise In French Football The 18-year-old caught the eye at times with his performances at the centre of Lille’s midfield in the previous campaign. Bouaddi picked up one assist in 42 matches for the French club last season in various competitions. The Moroccan talent is currently among the best young midfielders in Ligue 1. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Mancunian club are eyeing a move for him later this year. His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man City to land him on the cheap this off-season. Bouaddi is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team in the middle of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when required and is a good passer as well. The Morocco international can engineer the odd chance for his teammates to score. However, he needs to add some goals to his game. Bouaddi is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a defensive midfielder if told to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Mancunian giants manage to get him on board this summer. We can expect Bouaddi to enhance the quality of Man City’s midfield department in the long run. He is already good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Etihad Stadium next season. At 18, Bouaddi has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday as long as he continues to improve with each year. Therefore, Man City would be wise to go for a player with his skill set and potential before the end of this transfer window.
