Defender Freckleton leaves St Mirren for LASK
Miguel Freckleton leaves St Mirren after one season [SNS] Miguel Freckleton has left St Mirren to join Austrian champions LASK. The English defender, 22, joined the Paisley club last year and made 47 St Mirren appearances, scoring four times. He was previously with Sheffield United, who loaned him out to four different English clubs before his move north. Last season, LASK ended a 61-year wait to win the Austrian Bundesliga for just the second time. They also won the Austrian Cup for a second time, emulating their 1964-65 campaign with a league and cup double. Dietmar Kuhbauer's side open the defence of their league title later this month and will enter the Champions League at the play-off round in August, the same stage and path as Celtic. "We sincerely thank Miguel for his contributions," St Mirren said. "He departs with the best wishes of everyone at St Mirren."
