Sheff Wed sign Aston Villa defender Swinkels
Sil Swinkels made 24 appearances for Chesterfield during a loan spell in the second half of last season [Getty Images] Sheffield Wednesday have signed Aston Villa defender Sil Swinkels for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. The 22-year-old Dutchman had loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Chesterfield during his time with Villa. Swinkels made two cup appearances for the Premier League side. "The project brought me here - the people here made me feel like it's a long-term vision and that's something I want to be a part of," he told the club website.
